We endeavour to have a good selection of instruments for sale to suit players of all levels, from student outfits starting from violins at circa £220 and ‘cellos at circa £400, to those suitable for both amateur and professional use. Stock is constantly changing and prices range currently to around £10,000. All instruments are set up to a high standard in our workshops.

For a number of years we have sourced and commissioned contemporary instruments to our own specifications from major workshops worldwide including Franz Sandner (Nauheim), Lothar Semmlinger (Bayersdoff – Mittenwald) and Franz Kirchnek (Brauningshof – Erlangen), as well as from independent makers.

We have examples of French and German Schools of the late 19th / early 20th century, such as Saxony, Mittenwald, Markneukirchen, Vosges, Mirecourt and Chateau-Thierry, including smaller sized violins. We particularly feature English instruments.

For many years we have been delighted to offer excellent contemporary instruments by the prize winning makers Christopher Rowe and Elspeth Rowe. In our opinion these are very reasonably priced and represent both superb quality and excellent value for money.

Instruments and bows may be tried in our playing room and full approval facilities are available. We ask that before visiting us you ring first to discuss your requirements.
